Keratan sulfate (KS) is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan composed of repeating disaccharide units of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GlcNAc) and Galactose (Gal). KS is abundant in cartilage and cornea, and exists as unbranched polysaccharide chains covalently linked to the protein core of proteoglycans. This product is 1mg lyophilizate of biotin-labeled KS purified from porcine nasal cartilage. Biotin molecules are chemically attached to amine group which was introduced to the reducing end of KS according to the method of Raja et al.1).

Binding ability to avidin and anti-KS antibody (5D4) were conformed by the binding assay. The enclosed Certification of Analysis lists actual values for product specifications such as Actual Content, Molecular Weight or Introduction Ratio of Biotin.
