Ice On corrosion-resistant, compact, stackable aluminum tube racks maintain samples at cold temperature for experimental set-up and storage more efficiently than direct insertion into ice. This Type 2 version of Ice On features a flexible design with a central section that accommodates 96 0.2ml tubes (or a single 96 well plate) and flanking “reagent” sections for four 0.5ml and six additional 0.2ml tubes.

Features (shared by Type 1 and Type 2):

• Made of corrosion-resistant aluminum
• Compact design for placing on top of or inside a standard laboratory ice bucket
• Can be stacked and used to rack sample tubes
• Tubes not in contact with ice
• Form-fitting wells promote efficient and consistent cooling
• Placing racks on crushed ice promotes more rapid and efficient cooling than can be obtained with direct insertion of tubes into ice

Features unique to Type 1:

• Accommodates 24 x 1.5ml tubes
• Numbers (1-8) and letters (A to C) are inscribed on the surface for easy tube indexing and retrieval

Features unique to Type 2:

• Flexible design accommodates 6 x 0.5ml tubes + 4 x 1.5 ml tubes + one of the following:
  • 1 x 0.2 ml 96-well plate
  • 96 x 0.2 ml tubes
  • 12 x 0.2 ml 8-tube strips
  • 8 x 0.2 ml 12-tube strips
