Hybri-Bag Hard
Hard-type, heat-sealable, clear composite film-construction bags are designed for durable, reliable incubation of precious experimental membranes with limiting amounts of valuable liquid reagents, over many hours, withstanding temperature extremes from boiling to freezing, conditions required in widely utilized blotting (southern, northern and western) and other experimental techniques.
Conveniently sized (200 x 300 mm) Hybri-bags constructed from clear composite plastic film are available in 2 stiffness levels (soft and hard). All hybrid-bags are coated with Nylon outside and polyethylene and polypropylene on the inside, respectively, for soft- and hard-type Hybri-bags. A gridded version of the hard-type Hybri-bag is available for custom-sizing bags without the need for rulers to make straight cuts. Hybri-bags are heat-sealable, resistant to temperatures (80°C, soft and 120°C, hard) and do not curl when cut.
Features
- Tough, high strength, durable composite film
- Temperature resistant - boilable and freezable (0°C to 120°C)
- Designed for easy, reliable, durable and complete seals using a common heat sealer
- Clarity and smoothness of composite film construction can be useful for successful experimental outcomes
- No curling when cut
- Reasonable price
Storage
- Recommend storage at room temperature in a dry environment to avoid a curling effect of humidity
Frequently Asked Questions
Question | What is the thicknesses of constituing films - Nylon and Polyethylene? |
---|---|
Answer | The thickness superimposed with Nylon and Plyethylene is 65um±10%. |
Question | What types of polymers are used? - Nylon 6, Nylon 66 or some else; PEHD, PELD or some else; |
---|---|
Answer | Nylon: Nylon 6 Polyethylene: Linear Low Density Polyethylene (a kind of PELD) |
Question | Are there any additives to these polymers - antioxidants, catalysts, silicones (in particular)? |
---|---|
Answer | Both Nylon and Polyethylene contain additives such as antioxidant or slip agent. |
Question | Is there shelf life for the Hybri-bag? |
---|---|
Answer | There is no shelf life for the Hybri-bags. This product has a hygroscopic property, thus keeping it in a dry place is more preferable. |
Question | I would like to use the bags with low oxygen concentration in the bag. How is the air permeability of the bags? |
---|---|
Answer | Unfortunately, we do not have any information available regarding air permeability. However, we do have the product below available. Oxygen Absorber System http://www.cosmobio.co.jp/export_e/products/detail/oxygen_absorber.asp?entry_id=13409 |
Question | What is the thickness of the bags? |
---|---|
Answer |
Hard Type: 97µ(microns)±10% Hard Grid Type: 97µ(microns)±10% Soft Type: 65µ(microns)±10% |
Question | Hybri-bags can tolerate temperature of 80°C. Will they hybri-bags be ok if immersed in a 80°C waterbath for 16 hours? |
---|---|
Answer | <Soft Type> It shouldn't be a problem. <Hard Type> Can tolerate up to 120°C |
Question | Are there any additives? |
---|---|
Answer | Plyethylene contains addtives such as antioxidants and slip agents. When using hybri-bags for experiments, you can autoclave the bags or use RNAse and DNA eliminating reagents (or sheets). Currently we have no heard that the addtives can interfere with the experiment. |
Question | Are they able to tolerate liquid nitrogen? |
---|---|
Answer |
Hybribag Hard Type: Material 1:-40°C ~85°C Material 2:-20°C~130°C Hybribag Soft Type: Material 1:-40°C~85°C Material 2:-40°C~80°C Material 3:-40°C~90°C With above specifications of materials composing the hybri-bags, we assume that the bags may not be able to tolerate liquid nitrogen which is about -196°C. |
