Soybeans contain an ingredient called isoflavones. Since its structure is similar to that of female hormone (estrogen), isoflavone has a female hormone-like action, and has been known to be effective in alleviating menopausal symptoms and maintaining bone density. In a large cohort study by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare research group, the higher the isoflavone intake from food, the lower the risk of breast cancer, cerebral infarction, and myocardial infarction in Japanese women, and the risk of prostate cancer in some men. There are research reports that it decreases.

Recent studies have shown that the health benefits of soy isoflavones vary from person to person. Soy isoflavone (daidzein) taken from the diet is absorbed from the intestines, but at that time, some people absorb it as a component called daidzein, while others absorb it as a component called equol. This difference makes a difference in the health benefits of isoflavones, and it has been found that equol has higher estrogenic activity.

This product quantifies equol contained in biological samples (urine, serum, other body fluids, etc.) and foods by the competitive ELISA method.
