Antibodies for neurodegenerative disease research
ITIH4(Inter-alpha Trypsin Inhibitor Heavy Chain H4) Antibody
ITIH4 is secreted into the blood and cleaved by plasma kallikrein into two fragment proteins.
The gene expressing this protein is localized in the liver, and since ITIH4 peptide fragments have been detected in the sera of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis, the usefulness of this protein as a biomarker in liver diseases has been reported. Furthermore, experiments using mouse models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) have reported that elevated ITIH4 contributes to the progression of the disease, and this association has also attracted attention. On the other hand, ITIH4 is subject to many post-translational modifications such as sugar additions, making it extremely difficult to apply the antibody to cell staining and flow cytometry using peptides and recombinant proteins as antigens.
Two rat polyclonal antibodies suitable for detection of human ITIH4 are available.

GPNMB(Glycoprotein Nonmetastatic Melanoma Protein B)Antibody
GPNMB is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is specifically expressed in melanocytes and has been suggested to be involved in the regulation of cell growth retardation and metastatic ability.
Recently, Professor Hideaki Hara and his group at Gifu Pharmaceutical University have shown that expression of GPNMB in mice with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) suppressed the progression of the disease, indicating that dynamic tracking and functional analysis of GPNMB are useful for ALS research.
Three types of rabbit polyclonal antibodies specific for human and crossed to mouse and rat are available for GPNMB, which is attracting attention as a novel marker for ALS.

WDR45L(WD Repeat-containing Protein 45-like)Antibody
WDR45L, also known as WIPI-3, has a special structure that repeats 40 amino acids (WD40) seven times.
This protein regulates cell cycle transcription and signal transduction, and is believed to be deeply involved in "cell death" represented by apoptosis and autophagy in particular; however, the detailed functions of this protein have not yet been elucidated in many cases. In recent years, it has also attracted attention as a marker for neurodegenerative diseases associated with cell death, and the demand for kinetic analysis by cell staining is rapidly increasing.
Mouse polyclonal antibodies are available for use in staining mouse cells.
