CosmoSonic™ II Ultrasonic Cell Disruptor: Ice Water Circulator

Ice Water Circulator: BMB-BR2CR01

How does the Ice Water Circulator work?

CosmoSonic™ II Ultrasonic Cell Disruptor uses indirect sonication waves to disrupt cells and shear DNA to be used in a variety of applications. Tubes with samples are set into a rotating gear plated and then are submerged in an ice cold water bath. Then the entire volume of water present in the water bath is exposed to ultrasound, allowing all the samples to be efficiently sonicated in parallel. The water bath is kept full of circulating ice cold water by the addition of the Ice Water Circulator Unit (sold separately).

The ice water circulator is connected to the CosmoSonic™ II via a series of input and output tubes. Once water and generic flake ice are in the ice water circulator, it can circulate the water to the CosmoSonic™ II, maintaining a consistent and cold temperature. The CosmoSonic™ II Ultrasonic Cell Disruptor uses the water bath to generate indirect sonication waves, which emanate from an ultrasonic element below the water tank, known as the disruption unit.

Benefits

  • Uses generic flake ice as the solvent
  • Includes a synchronize function to coordinate water flow and ultrasonic oscillation timing of CosmoSonic™ II
  • Full-time ice cold water circulation is available even when CosmoSonic™ II isn't running
  • Temperature display of cold circulation water
