Amyloid ? peptide is known as a causative protein of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This amyloid ? peptide is secreted after the amyloid precursor protein is cut with ?-secretase and ?-secretase. Recently research about ?-secretase is advanced, and it is elucidated that complex constituted by presenilin as the center, nicastrin, PEN-2, and anterior-pharynx defective 1 (APH-1) is ?-secretase. APH-1 is indispensable for ?-secretase activity and is thought to work for stabilization of the complex. ?-secretase is also related to Notch signaling that is important in the process of the development. This antibody was produced using a partial peptide of human APH-1a as an antigen. It does not crossreact with APH-1b that is the homologue. It is expected to be useful to research the mechanism about the onset of AD and the signal transduction. It can be used for Western blotting.
